Games you can play in your web browser. Free and no download required. All of these games play with the flash plug in from adobe. Don't worry you almost certainly have in installed already. Simple go the Kongregate web site and search for the game name. The game will load and play automatically.

Kongregate has the best games because they pay for the best games. Every month people submit new games to their site and every month the programmers of the best games get sent prize money for having the best game. The website keeps track of how many people have played each game and what they rated the game so you can can sort the games by either 'most played' or 'highest rated'. This makes finding very good games easy.

Finally, for those achievement OC people (ok that would be me), many of the games have achievements you can earn by completing so many levels or killing so many enemies etc. This feature requires you to create a user account (free) and log on. This also includes an easy way to save your favorite games which is useful unless your like me and want to create a whole webpage for the idea :).

Click Adventure

Click on the screen to tell a story. Kings quest games and what they became. If you get stuck, look to the lower right of the webpage. This is where people can make comments about the game. Almost all of the adventure games have comments from people letting you know some hints.

Base Defense

Build a base, defend it from the bad guys. This type was pretty much invented by Desktop Tower defense and was invented on the flash gaming platform. These come in three major flavors. "Free form", "Path" and "Left Right". In Freeform monster move anywhere. In Path they follow a hard fixed path or move generally from A to B. In "Left Rigt" they move in a fixed rank or ranks from the left of the screen to the right. This last type is definately copied from the old Apple II game "Rescue Raiders".
