For many years the youth group and more specifically the choir at Good Shepard United Methodist Church was a large part of my life. I joined the group in the sixth grade and stayed until I graduated high school. When I joined I immediately found it full of some of the best people I have ever known. So here is a "remember when" page to bring a smile to your face. Enjoy!

It was an interesting project trying to collect and sort all of the information from the many trips we took and musicals we preformed over the years. It was both a joy because all of the wonderful memories and unsettling because of all the things I had forgotten. I can only hope that you find it as enjoyable to browse as I found it to create.
With over 70 people passing through the choir in the six years of musicals it's impossible to mention everyone by name but I can't keep from at least one shout out to Amy Riley, Julie Hinely, and Matt Robertson, who were there from the beginning to the end. It was a great run.
The Youth Group
Start with some excellent youth leaders, add some great kids, and then throw in a couple if incredible trips and you get memories that will last a life time.
Ski Trip. Nothing says "I went to a Methodist Youth Group in Maryland in the 80's" like the words "Youth ski trip"
Mystery Ramble. So let me make sure I understand this. All of us kids get on the school bus and we travel for 7 days, but we don't know where we are going? Sounds crazy, but it worked.

The Choir
An incredible group. Everyone from the top on down. I started out in the Sheryl and Art years with the incredible productions of Dreamer, On the Rock, and Hi-Tops and it would be difficult to imagine a better couple to work with. I ended my stay with Nick Wagener on Surrender. It was an incredible amount of work for all of the directors and it's hard to say to much in praise of all them.
For myself one thing that I truly remember is just how well the older kids treated myself and the younger members when we started. The group was a range of ages from 12-18 and yet the older kids never talked down or made the young kids feel unwelcome. My hat is off to you for being some of the best role models I can remember.
