Who wants to hear about a trip if it's to expensive to go yourself? I've always hated travel shows that show you an incredible location and never mention the price, or the price mentioned doesn't include taxes or fees which can be up to 25% in some areas. The prices below are after all taxes.
As I mentioned before this was a bit unusual from my normally "What's the best value I can find" and more "Let's find something with some WOW factor". You could absolutely do this trip for less. As always the below prices are for a 2 person couple.

Flights
Discount First Class. Ok, it's a term I just made up so sue me. But yes that is not an economy price, but it's also not first class prices. Let me explain. While I did want to fly first class, first class tickets were $4,872 a couple and that just seemed excessive. I'm 5' 10'' so leg room is really not that much an issue for me, what is an issue is shoulder room. Also, have you ever gotten lucky on a 3 across seating when there is no one in the middle seat? It's wonderful. Can you pay more to get that intentionally? Why yes, yes you can and it's easier than ever.
When the airlines wanted overweight people to purchase an extra seat if they could not comfortable fit in a single seat, they simply added the option to purchase a second seat as an option. Well I just choose that option and paid for another seat. So two economy seats at $600 each plus the seat in the middle for a total of $1,800. Was it first class? No. Was it absolutely wonderful? Yes. $1,800 vs $4,900. Not even close.
I will absolutely do this one again.
Resorts
2 different Resorts. Mixed recommendation but positive.
The issue with flight to the Turks is that you don't land until 4pm. Figure an hour to get your luggage and get to the hotel and now you are not checking in until 5pm. At $1,000 a night for the high end room, you really want to get all the time you can. The idea then was to get a "cheaper" room at a different resort 2 miles away at "only" $370 a night for the first night.
Mixed because the check in time at the Sands is officially 3pm but they took till 4pm to get us a room. Still a win as they were able to tell us our room number when we got there at 11am and we walked around. While doing so we notice they had us in a first floor room right off the main pool and it was not what we are looking for. A quick trip back to the front desk and while they grumbled a bit, they did move us to the perfect room. I'm positive that if we had not asked so early we would not have had the option.
Taxis
Bring a lot more cash than you think for taxis and tips. At about $30 a person for the airport to the resort, even the short 1-2 mile taxis between the resort and restaurants and activities can add up fast at $10 a person with tip. A nice perk of staying at a major hotel is that most activities will pick you up from the hotel. Or in the case of the water activities, they will pick you up from the beach wich is really cool.
