Prices are per couple with tax.
Transport
Another recommendation for “Fast Park” at the RDU airport. Good price, great service
Southwest. Airline prices have definitely gone up since the last time we went to Vegas. Southwest has also realized they have a winner with the direct flight from RDU and have increase this fare relative to others. $570 per person w tax and add another $25 for the Early check in and your up to $595 each or $1190 for a couple. Ouch! The direct flight is always booked so the early check in is recommended. On the plus side Southwest has added some in flight entertainment so if you have a Laptop or iPad you can watch some streaming TV or pay $5 for your selection of movies.
We tried the shuttle from the Airport to the hotel. It saved about $10 and didn’t seem to be any more difficult or slower than the taxis.
As in previous trips, once you get to Vegas, the way to get around the strip is the Deuce Bus. $8 a day or $26 for three days, you can ride up and down the strip as much as you want.
Hotel
We stayed at the Luxor this trip, and I just can’t recommend it anymore. For starters they have made it difficult to see the true price of your room by hiding taxes and “resort fees”. They have then added insult to injury in charging you $23 for a resort fee that includes internet, but they do not have Wi-fi in the rooms. And no coffee maker, just cause they can.
Prices are variable by day of the week which is pretty standard in Vegas now. $51 on weeks days, $138 on Friday, and $187 on Sat, but that’s before tax and fees. The real rates are $80 on weekdays, $176 Friday, and $232 on Sat. And no, you still don’t get Wi-fi in your room for $232. Really?!
